One day before the battle. One sinful day before it all will go to hell. The Horde was camping just outside the Alliance’s outpost in Ashenvale. Perhaps you could also say that it was a decisive battle, as if the Horde was to win then the whole Kalimdor would belong to them. It was truly a high time to drive those pesky Alliance from the lands. Each and everyone were preparing for the event differently. Some or actually most of them were practicing the art of combat by sparring with each other; others were testing their weapons and armour. Air was filled with tension, anxiety and a sickenly sweet aroma of brewed potions done by the apothecarians. Mending wounds and increasing the performance of warriors in the battle were their main perspective. Time seemed to pass swiftly as the Judgement day drew closer. Deftones was resting after yet another failed battle against Warhead. The youth seemed to overcome his elder opponent every single time, yet the last session was more of a draw. Tired and frustrated he resided in the solitude. His head, protected by a heavy helm, was resting against the solid wood of an ancient oak tree. His eyes closed, resting the eye leads against each one, as he sat in the shadow of a mighty giant – a nature’s haven. “Don’t tell me he won again.” A soothing voice of Destiny cut the silence, disturbing the defeated warrior from his morbid thoughts. Deftones reciprocated with a frustrated moan. “I see.” The mage replied sliding his back down the bark of a tree until was stopped by the ground. ”He just gets lucky that’s all. I still think you can take him on.” He smiled. “ Of course I can.” The warrior grumbled finally opening his eyes and turning his head to face the mage. “I am not using my full strength on him. Don’t want to break the kid’s bones.” Destiny couldn’t tell if Deftones was smiling or not as the helm covered most of the other’s face. He just nodded as a response and stared in the distance focusing at nothing in particular. “Can’t wait till tomorrow.” Deftones said removing his helmet and placing it firmly onto the cold ground. “My sword is aching for the action.” Destiny just smirked. He knew it too well. *** The fabric walls of the tent gave in as Outlander’s head popped into the opening. His gaze scanned the interior before stopping on the object of his attention. “Hi Dritz.” He said with an amiable expression on his face. “Do you know where Dan is? I need to have a word with him.” “How the fuck do I know?” The druid grumbled in his usual matter quiet annoyed being disturbed from his meditation. “Probably hunting or shagging the sheep again.” Outlander smiled. Not as if it were true, but because Dritz was well known for his I-don’t-care-leave-me-alone attitude. “Oh well I guess I will try to look for him…in 15 minutes or so.” Outlander smiled again. His pristine white teeth sparkling even in the darkly lit room. “See you in a bit.” “Landy wait.” Druid stopped the shaman, as he was about to disappear. “ Aren’t you afraid about tomorrow?” His eyes showed true worry and concern. Outlander sighed, yet still keeping smiley attire. “Of course I do.” He said in a calming manner. “But with all of us working together, there is nothing we cannot achieve. Just rest Dritz , let’s us worry about things tomorrow, okay?” “’kay.” The druid replied, giving Outlander one of his rare smiles. The shaman reciprocated with his own, before disappearing behind the fabric, leaving the druid to return to his meditation. *** With a fishing rod firmly in his hand Killerdan was spending the quality time with his pet. His gaze was set firmly on the bob as he was prepared to pull at any moment. Unfortunately for him the fish was reluctant to take the bait. “Don’t worry, Pure, I’ll catch you something for dinner.” He said to a sleeping wolf that dreamt calmly next to his owner. “Still talking to your dog?” No Fear appeared from the shadows. The priest was talking a walk as he accidentally stumbled upon his brother in arms. “Fooneh.” Killerdan replied contorting his facial features into a sarcastic grin. ”I’ll never increase my fishing level at that rate.” He sighed. “Why you even bother, really?” The priest said, running his hand through his short ash like hair as he eased the tension in his body. Being a priest has taken a great toll on the boy. Looking after his comrades weren’t easy, as the likes of Deftones or Warhead were prone to be injured much more quicker, than the rest. “Will you challenge the Alliance scum to a fishing contest or will simply bash their heads with fishing pole?” No Fear giggled childishly. “First of all it’s a rod a not a pole.” Killerdan replied to the other’s comment. “And second of all I do it for my pet and not for the entertainment.” Dan was clearly upset. Seeing that No Fear retaliated. “Only joking, man.” “Whatever.” Killerdan made a great Dritz impersonation before returning to his cursed rod. ”Just bite already. ” He mumbled shifting his body from side to side to renew the blood flow in his legs. No Fear decided to leave him alone. He was dreading tomorrow. *** Walking through the row of sparring soldiers Outlander was still looking for Killerdan. Perhaps he should postpone the conversation until tomorrow. It really seemed like a good idea, as he finally abandoned his search for the hunter. “Hey, Landy!” He heard the familiar voice, which made him turn around. “Oh hey, Warhead.” He said with his usual grin. “How was your match with Deftones?” “It was a draw or what he thinks.” The warrior giggled. Outlander raised an eyebrow. Deftones was probably pissed by now. He hated to see the ill will between the members of his team. It was also something that made the leader uncomfortable. There was nothing worse for him than friends falling out. “I see.” He replied. “Have you seen Dan by any chance?” He tried his luck for the last time. “Nope.” Warhead shrugged. “He is always around and never when you need him.” “True.” Outlander replied. “Oh well, I will see him tomorrow.” Warhead burped indiscreetly. “Yeah.” Outlander laughed. “Anyway I got to go. Don’t over-exercise we need you tomorrow fresh.” He smiled and playfully ruffled Warhead’s hair. “Seeyaz.” Warhead replied. “Don’t be gay, Outlander.” He added crinkling his nose at the touch. Outlander only laughed. He placed both of his hands into the pockets of his trousers and carried on his way. Warhead sighed. He craved so badly the tomorrow’s battle, yet he was concern about everyone else’s well-being. Tomorrow all will go to hell.
